FSSAI registration is mandatory for anyone involved in the food business, whether it's manufacturing, processing, packaging, or distributing food. - State FSSAI License: Required for medium-sized food manufacturers, processors, or operators with an annual turnover between ₹12 lakh and ₹20 crore.
- Central FSSAI License: Necessary for large food businesses whose turnover exceeds ₹20 crore annually, or for operators involved in food export and import.
Documents Required for FSSAI Registration
- Passport-sized photo of the applicant
- Proof of identity: Aadhar, Voter ID, or Passport
- Business address proof
- List of food products
- For Central/State licenses: Authority letter, detailed business plan, and manufacturing unit blueprint
FSSAI Registration Process
The registration process includes the following steps:
- Step 1: Submission of Form A (Basic FSSAI Registration) or Form B (State/Central FSSAI License)
- Step 2: Documentation and payment submission
- Step 3: Inspection of food premises (if required)
- Step 4: Issuance of the FSSAI Registration/License after verification and approval
